As a photographer, finding inspiration is not limited to scrolling through other photographers’ work. In fact, some of the most captivating sources of inspiration can be found in the world around us. In the first part of this series, I shared how Pinterest can inspire photographers in their upcoming sessions. In this article, I’ll share the second method I use.
This method is all about opening our eyes to the beauty of everyday inspiration. It’s about unleashing our creativity in unexpected ways and places.

1. Inspiration from Other Forms of Art
When it comes to finding styling inspiration, the possibilities are endless. Instead of confining ourselves to photography-related sources, we can look beyond and explore various forms of media. Movies, TV shows, magazine covers, and music are rich with unique aesthetics, compositions, and visual narratives that can ignite our creativity. It’s about immersing ourselves in different worlds and drawing inspiration from the diverse storytelling mediums that captivate our senses.

2. Seeking Inspiration in Places
To find inspiration, we need to start looking around us. Often, it’s the most unexpected places that hold the keys to unlocking our creativity. If inspiration doesn’t come knocking on your door, venture into unfamiliar territory. You can visit places you don’t frequent often, such as museums, national parks, or funky cafes. These new environments can spark something within you, offering fresh perspectives and fueling your imagination.

3. Embracing a Life of Exploration
When my clients feel stuck in a rut of uninspired creativity, I encourage them to list out all the things they enjoy. It’s a simple exercise that can help you reconnect with your passions and interests. I also urge you to engage in activities that broaden your horizons. This is not about adding more tasks to your to-do list, but rather about fully embracing life and discovering the beauty it has to offer. Every new place visited, every unfamiliar smell, every movement observed, and every breathtaking scenery encountered can become a source of inspiration.

Conclusion
Finding inspiration doesn’t require exhaustive efforts or extra work. It’s about cultivating a mindset of awareness and presence in our day-to-day lives. By opening our eyes to the world around us, we can discover inspiration in unexpected places. From movies and music to exploring new environments and indulging in activities we love, the key is to live life fully and embrace all that it has to offer.
So, keep your senses alert, for inspiration is waiting to be found in the simplest moments. Stay tuned for Part III, where I’ll reveal another personal method of finding inspiration that goes beyond the realm of photographers’ work.
