As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to fall into the trap of sacrificing what matters most to you in the pursuit of success. But I believe that’s not necessary. I don’t believe in sacrificing what means the most to you as an entrepreneur. It defeats the whole purpose of becoming an entrepreneur in the first place which in part is the freedom to make your own standards and way of life.
For me, family time, weekends, my well-being, time to travel, life enjoyment, and time to work on things for myself are non-negotiable standards in my life. I don’t sacrifice those for my business.
What I do instead is I work on my passions and business projects instead of wasting time on Netflix. I spend time talking about ideas and growth and dreams in rooms where people value those things instead of complaining and gossiping. I work on growing and up leveling my business, instead of just being on the busy hamster wheel working inside my business. I create my own rules about what is possible in life and arrange my work to support my vision of a beautiful and balanced life. I am devoted, focused, and in it for the long haul.

The key to building a successful business without sacrificing what matters most to you is to put your values at the forefront and build around them. As you build and expand your business and brand, you must prioritize the parts of your life that matter most to you. You get to have, be, and do it all without sacrifice and without learning the hard way.
